This month's featured property is Bell Cottage - a Clifton Village home with award winning gardens and an intriguing history. Built on the site of an old ice house, belonging to one of Clifton's foremost confectioners, the house has changed hands many times over the years, each owner making their own additions and improvements. The once pokey cottage is now a spacious, four bedroom home perfect for those who like to live outside as well as in. The property is on the market with Chappells Matthews.

Also this issue we look at a period family home which was originally part of the Ashton Court Estate, a terraced house, right on the waterfront, and Nugent Hill, a Victorian home with a modern twist.
Writer and photographer Stephen Morris waited patiently for the clouds to roll by before setting off for Blaise Castle. Now that schools out, we can't think of a better place to spend a long and leisurely day with the family.

We've kept the kids in mind for this month's fashion round-up too, while it's the family pets who get a look in in our Editor's Choice.

A longtime fixture on Bath's Lower Bristol Road, Charles Ware's Morris Minor Centre relocated to Brislington earlier this year. It seemed as good an excuse as any to catch up with one of the West Country's most colourful characters - Mark Sparrow chronicles the fall and rise of the man the Sun once dubbed "Champagne Charlie".

The migration worked the other way round at the end of June, when top Bristol chefs joined a starry line-up at the Taste of Bath food fest. If you didn't visit, we urge you to do so next year - hopefully our pictorial souvenir will inspire you to do so.

Closer to home, the Bristol Old Vic epitomises everything that makes this city great.
