Family affair
I remember with fondness the days when I could lay claim to being a child. It was long ago, readers, back in the days of shell suits and Trolls, Barbies and Sylvanian families. Those were the days when we amused ourselves with simple pleasures – Pooh sticks, Simon says and hide and seek.
Nowadays it’s all Xbox this, Nintendo DS that and the average child needs more than a trip down the local park to excite their senses. Lucky for us then, that Bristol has plenty of activities to delight the younger, and older come to think of it, generations, as our kids’ guide on page 16 shows.
But it’s not just the troublesome teens or the awkward under-10s we’re catering for this issue – oh no. We’ve got something for all the family. For the truly little ones we’ve got some top travel accessories for tots (page 56) and for mum we’ve got the ultimate guide to packing for your summer holidays (page 69). Even dad is being spoilt, again, with the chance to win a travel bag and personal shopper experience (page 70) should the socks and sweater combination on Father’s Day not quite hit the spot.
Elsewhere, we’ve got five reasons to love Clevedon and Weston-Super-Mare; a sneak inside Clifton’s newest eatery; and an interview with the doyenne of Pop Art, Jann Haworth.
Until next time...
Laura
